I ordered a JD 4400 with hydro on April 26, 1999. I rec'd a call from my dealer in northern Minnesota today saying he had been contacted by Deere and not to expect delivery until early September! Hopefully it will get here in time to break it in somewhat before the snow flies. If you are ordering in the near future I would really push the dealer as to expected delivery date!

You are unfortunately correct. These have been popular for John Deere. If anyone is interested in a 4000 Series, I recommend spending less time on here to see if you can save $500 and go ahead and get one ordered before it is too late. ....

The long lead times are mostly on the HST models. Gear models are still available in some dealers stock as of now.But if you want to get an HST model -- you better act fast.PS - 420 and 430 loaders are also a hot item right now. I ordered a JD4300 HST with 420 loader in Feb -- I got the 4300 in May, but the 420 warehouse date has moved from April to May to June.... I've arranged a deal with my dealer and his Deere rep to get a 430 (at a discount) beforether're all taken.ScottC ....

Our dealer told us 30-40 days, about 2-3 weeks ago for a 4100. Hopefully that time frame doesn't shift as your did. ....

Does that mean that my 4200 will command a pretty good resale value. I can see selling it and buying bigger in the future. Of course I don't know what will be around to replace it. ....
