Looking for info on value of a "rough" JD 855 4x4 w/loader. approx 1500 hrs on machine. lights are broken, hood is cracked in front, tractor recently repainted no decals, bad lh brake, cranks and runs ok tractor is for sale in an auction this week but I have no idea of the value in this rough condition. any ideas? Also curious if 855 small Hp can handle 5' rotary cutter?

any comments on the one you sold. Is it underpowered? Is the loader useless due to the lightweight of the tractor? ....

I'm going to draw fire for this but, I didn't care much for the hydrostatic with the loader. I would bog the engine down while trying to scoop a load of dirt and pressing the hydro pedal. I thought it was just my tractor till I talked to New Holland dealer who said the NH's were the same way. I have a gear tractor with a loader now and I like it better. Don't get me wrong, the 855 is nice and it is a nice loader. The loader is well thought out for a quick detach. ....
