Local dealer sells International brand implements (box scraper, landscape rake, rotary cutter). I am unfamiliar with this brand, but they look sturdy enough to pull behind a NH35D. Anyone have any advice/comments for me??

I found a used International Box Scraper on the web, and talked to the dealer about it. It's a little hard to judge quality over the phone, but weight can be used as a rough quality measure. The weight was comparable to mid-quality units.
I did some web searching about the unit. I didn't find a corporate web site, and I don't know if the unit is made by an independent manufacturer, or is a brand label marketed within the Case/International Harvester and so forth merger. The scraper, in a picture, was red, but it didn't have the old IH logo.
A search for used international equipment didn't turn up much except a few dealers with sprayers in Western Canada. At least one dealer did have an 'International' banner on its site, but it didn't link to anything.
I found the low presence of the company and products on the web a bit worrisome.
Guess I'd want to be clear about dealer support and especially about parts availability. If this 'International' is part of 'Case and others', then parts should be available, otherwise maybe a problem.
On the other hand, I probably wouldn't worry too much about parts for a scraper as long as it had replaceable blade edges. I also don't worry too much about parts for my little known snow blower. Most of the parts for it probably were ordered out of OEM catalogues. Such parts can be found without going back to the blower manufacturer.
Even so, it would be comforting if the dealer is definite about being able to get parts. Having to get a machine shop to custom make a part is very painful. Had my share of it in the early 70's when I was trying to keep other people's British motorcycles going. I probably would have gone for the scrpaper, except that I needed a bigger one.

The International unit you mention is made by a company in Ohio. There isn't alot of difference between the quality of the economy attachment manufactures. They all use basically the same parts. If you compare gear boxes, they most all use the same gear boxes. Pto shafts are usually standard metric pto shafts. Bearings & belts are off the shelf items. There are minor differences in the products they produce. IH is one of the better companies from what I've seen of their products & I've looked at a lot of brands(I'm a dealer looking for most bang for the buck). Above the economy manufactures are the companies that have a name (Woods, landpride, Bush Hog). They have usually a better product(but not always)that costs more. For the home owner that uses the product occasionally, I question if the extra cost is justified. For commercial use it may be justified. ....
