I just installed a power lift cylinder on my 1998 4X2 Gator. I now want to install a protective dust boot on it. The boot kit (AM119059) has clamps at each end that will essentially ratchet when the clamp is compressed. Is there a recommended way to tighten the clamps (hopefully, without searching for and buying a special-purpose wrench or some such)?
Thanks
- John

Depending on the type of clamp depends on the type of tool. CV style clamps that are used mainly on axle shafts I use strait cutters and use judgement as too not cut the band. ....

Thanks, oneace. After a little more examination, I saw that the clamps are made by Oetiker, and there are a couple of versions of pliers that are needed to properly tighten them. Rather than paying over $20 for the pliers (and that was on eBay), I used narrow worm-drive clamps that did just fine. The latter were preferable, anyway, since once the Oetiker clamps are tightened, they can't be removed except by cutting them off. ....
