I found a YM155D with loader and rear mower,366 hrs, for 3000 bucks..He said it will be running when I come and get it..Is this a good deal? Check out the picture link...Thanks..Lloyd

It is a very good price. looking at the picture, I'd say this one hasn't run in a few days... :-)...It is important for diesels that have been sitting for a long time that they be cranked until the oil pressure comes up before starting. Crank it with the throttle all the way off and the compression release pulled to make cranking easier. This pre-oiling type of cranking was required by the Yanmar factory in bulletins specifically for mentioning older YM155 tractors that had not been run for a while. It is a good idea for any motor.
Those YM155D tractors were among the first of the 4wd compacts. They were primitive by today's standards with things like the prelube requirement, the thermosiphon cooloing, real slow hydraulics, transmission-driven PTO, puny electrics, and a noisy engine that also vibrates.....but if you looked after their special requirements they were amazingly durable. And they would run all day on fuel measured by the spoonful. Parts and service seem to be well supported. ....
