I have a 2001 Turf Gator. It recently(last 4 months) started to kill batteries. I replaced battery twice. I finally found a short in a wire that connects to two contacts on the starter(wire was worns and shorting against starter mount). I repaired that, Gator worked fine for a week and then battery died again. Battery can be charged and obviously holds enough charge for a few starts(gator is used daily to feed cows). Is my voltage regulator bad? This seems to be logical item. I ran a test according to my Technical manual(TM1686) and it was good, but battery was also fully charged. Would this make a difference in the voltage readings i get from the regulator?
