Belt slips

Hi Anyone know if the belt on the 6x4 slips a little or should slip going up and down hills. Going down it squeaks down hill till I give it gas. Going up a steep knoll it slips unless I get a running start. Would it help to put a little belt grip on the edges or a new belt

Thanks One will go on to day Your best guess what is the 6x4 worth I think its a 2000 Non Gas engine Lots of new parts Runs nice now. 2000 hrs ....
