serial numbers and date of manufacture

just got a 6x4 gator and it has nearly 4000 hours on it. i do not know the history, but it seems to be running fine at the moment. is there a place/way i can run the kawasaki serial number and compare it's date of manufacture to the gators? i want to see if the engine has ever been replaced. also, how can i determine the year of manufacture for the gator?

There is no way to match a motor serial number to a Gator. Your dealer has the capability of telling you the date of manufacture, first owner, date the warranty started, who bought it, and what warranty work was done om it, if you supply him with the serial number of the Gator. AS-11 code motors have a completely different throttle and choke cable. That is anything before SN 14949. ....
