Have an old 4 x 2 and won't move. Feels like its going into gear, so don't think its an actual transmission/gearbox issue. Is there an easy way to determine if its the primary clutch, secondary drive, or belt? Not real familiar with these machines, so any help would be appreciated.

You can sit still, with the machine in neutral, and rev it and the clutches will shift out like they are supposed to do. If the drive clutch gets bigger and the driven smaller they are working. Sounds like a broken chain in the transaxle, a broken tang on the shift arm inside the transaxle, or something on the input shaft in the transaxle. Transaxles can't be fixed while in the machine, they have to be removed and taken apart. ....

Great, thanks for the help. I'll check when I get back home tonight and verify the clutches/drives are working before tearing into the transaxel. ....
