I’ve got a sick HXP 4x4 gator and am looking for a little help. The Gator starts and idles fine but has no power and significant deceleration exhaust backfire when you try to drive it. It was running just fine last weekend and has not been driven in between.

The Gator has always been sensitive to old gas so I started out by draining the tank and replacing the fuel and fuel filter. The plugs looked good although they indicated it is running a little lean. I went ahead and replaced the plugs just to be sure. Nothing made the slightest difference. At this point I’m thinking I may have low flow or pressure out of the fuel pump but can not find any specs as to what it should be.

Am I on the right track? If so, does anyone know what the fuel flow and pressure should be?

Thanks

I doubt that it's fuel flow. I think one side of your carb is plugged up. I've seen this problem a few times. You need to completely dismantle your carb and clean all jets and passages with carb cleaner and compressed air. I don't know where they plug up, but cleaning has always fixed it for me. ....
