My 2002 gator 6X4 gas water cooled kawasaki engine is over heating and the electric cooling fan wont turn on. I have replaced the temperature sensor in the radiator but, the electric cooling fan wont turn on while in the radiator. I pulled the temperature probe out of the radiator and heated it up with a heat gun and this DID make the fan turn on. The top hose on the radiator is hot and the bottom one is cold. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kurt

If your top radiator hose is hot all the way to the radiator and your bottom hose is cold you must have a clogged radiator, or a clogged lower hose. If your top hose is just hot next to the motor and not all the way to the radiator you may not be pumping coolant. You need to remove the bleeder screw in the intake manifold next to the 90 fitting for the carb ( 12 mm wrench ) and see if there is coolant present. If not fill 'er up, put the screw back in and try it. I've had air locks occur multiple times there so try it and check it. Be sure your temp light is working, it should come on when the ignition is in the start position. I've never seen a water pump fail to pump, so I doubt if it's that. ....

Gatoraider has it correct. Exact same problems I used to have with mine (fan and hoses) You must fill that little hole to the top. I did it while running and water pumping to be sure it was full. No problems from then on. I also put an override toggle switch on the fan control just in case. It would let it run all the time if I wanted. ....
