I am buying the 51" front mounted rotary broom for my 2210. One of the uses I've seen mentioned is for lawn de-thatching. Sounds like an idea that I never considered. Anyone out there ever used a broom for that??

It does work, just don't stop. You can bare it if going to slow with two high of RPM. Watch for areas that may be wetter asyou might roll the turf up if it gouges at all. ....

I am with Art on this one, you need to get the gauge wheels to keep from ripping out the lawn. I have a power dethacher, if stop it will ripped out the lawn while you wait, (wait is 2-5 seconds. I have a friend with a Grasshopper 928d with a broom for detaching, he couldn't get a detacher that was at least 5 foot wide. Then with his other 928d collects the thach with the vac unit. ....
