I have been having a great time brush hogging with this cutter, no complaints. It came setup with the tail about 1 1/2" higher than the rear and that works great in the brush.
For the time being I am going to cut the lawn with it. It cut fine but I need to get the angles right so that the front of the deck doen't gauge the lawn. I have raised the tailwheel to drop the rear of the deck alittle and it helped slightly. I did it some more but didn't try it yet. Should I change something else? Maybe remove the center link for the lawn so it "floats" a little?

Set it up on flat hard surface. Get your tail wheel pointed the right direction and adjust to the height of desired cut. Measure the tip of the blade to ground set you 3ph lever for that setting also. check it side to side and adjust leveler.
Your top link should have a povioting float there. adjust you top link long enough so it will pick the tail but not until the front is up some.
Unless you have a perfect flat lawn you will get scalping unless you anticipate the dips and raise you 3ph accordingly. This is where the long top link comes in. Also when you go over a slight ridge. ....

You have me a little confused, it's not because it's Monday morning either. The front of the deck should be where the cutting is done. It should be lower then the rear. The problem with a big single blade unit is that the ends of the blade width will be higher then the center making it a must to overlap more to have a level cut look. It can be done but be sure your blades stay sharp. ....

Thanks guys. I made the deck more level from front to back and I also adjusted side to side and it is much better. ....
