posthole digger ID crisis

Purchased a new JD post hole digger this winter. Just noticed the serial # tag says it is a 31B.
My purchase order said I was buying a 31C.
All JD literature and website refer to the 31C.
Is there any significant differences, that I should confront my dealer for a replacement?
He admitted he got it from another dealer.
