Randy and others,

I 've read the posts on sizing but I need some advice. I've got 7.6 acres of which 3 acres is clear field for finish mowing around my house. I've got a 1200 foot drive with about 12% grade.

I've got a Garden tractor now, but would like to have aloder for the snow and landscaping its a new place so theres work to be done and a wheelbarrow 's not cutting it.

I live in southern New York State so I get snow. So the criteria must be able to easily handle the drive and finish mow to cut down the time its taking me now.

What do you think I should get.

With a long drive, lots of snow in the winter, 3 acres to mow and 7+ to care for I suggest like a 855 JD. 60 in deck, front mount blower. The only other questions I have for you is do you have a place to store it? If so then that's my call for you. Loader is very quick to attach/detach. It's small size is excellent in the unfinished areas of your properity. Again the JD because of the dealer network. JD again because other compacts the front mount blower is so expensive, ie New Holland! There front mount blower is WOW!!!$$$$$$$. On the other side. Do you have the $$$ for that tractor w/out killing your pocket? Another part of this is the diesel engine, don't just think of the cost of the tractor, You must maintain that engine, fuel system, cooling system and the oil changes are expensive. Are you handy with equipment?? Are you anywhere near Buffalo?? I live in Elma N.Y. ....
