Hello, all.Any advice for installing power beyond for my TC29? The dealer wants to sell me a $430 kit (I install) with a control. I was thinking of a more simple circuit that supplies hydro power to the remote lines all of the time to be controlled on the implement (woodsplitter in this case).Thanks, Bill Mullens

Sometime back, I think I finally figured out the power beyond thing, and there is an issue here. A power beyond SCV is a three hose system. There are ports for inlet and outlet hoses. The third port provides a direct path to the sump for cylinder return oil (That's the oil on the passive side of a double cylinder that's in operation). On two hose systems, return oil is fed into the outlet port, which also carries the full open centre flow from the pump. The issue is that when a control valve is operated, the entire line ahead of the valve sees operating pressure. If another SCV or 3ph is plumbed into the line 'beyond' a SCV, then the first SCV sees operating pressure whenever a control valve further down the line is operated. On a two hose system, the SCV exhaust core, which handles cylinder return oil, also sees operating pressure, but many SCV exhaust cores are only designed to withstand about 500 lbs. pressure. A power beyond valve routes the return oil directly to the sump, so the exhaust core never sees operating pressure. I run my backhoe from a rear outlet that is under valve control of a three section SCV for my loader—similar to a possible circuit for a splitter. I just bungee cord the valve open to run the hoe. However, the SCV output goes to the 3ph input--a very common plumbing. The arrangement will work just fine as long as the 3ph is not put into lift while the hoe is connected, or alternatively unless the hoe valve is designed to withstand operating pressures. So, I have to take some care during operation. Actually, the 3ph was bumped into lift once. The 3ph is locked down while the hoe is mounted, and it took me a short while to realize I was hearing the relief valve open. No apparent ill effects, but I don't think I'd want it to happen again. It probably would be safer for me to rig a quick connect and hose directly to the sump and connect the hoe output there instead of back to the SCV. Anyway, that's the issue as I understand it, and from this perspective, the extra bucks for a power beyond system may be worth it. ....
