I am trying to decide between a New Holland 40D Hydro tran with loader and a Kubota L3830 GST with loader. The price on the NH and Kutota are the same - about $20,000. I like both dealers. Any suggestions on what way to go? I fell like the NH is a little beefier. I think I also prefer the Hydrostatic Transmission. Also, I prefer the 4 versus 3 cylinder on the NH.
Thanks for your opinion

Given the advantages of each, and I'm a Kubota Guy, I would take the NH hydro tranny over the Kubota glider and 4 cylinder. but that's just me. ....

Probably about 20% of our L's sold are Glideshift and they work very well. They have a very reliable past and many customers prefer them after owning them and will not go for the hydro's. Check the tractors out good if you can work with them check the ride out on rough ground or doing what you want to do. Lift the bucket with a good load and see if you can turn the wheels lock to lock at an idle or close to one. Look for the features that you might like and test them. ....

I had the same difficult choice between a L4330 and 40D. I chose the Kubota. I chose Kibota and am very pleased. The delaer sold both brands so he didn't care. I asked the sales manager later and he said he felt Kubota is built a little better. He also said that the NH has been around the same for 7 years and hasn't changed while the Kubota is always trying to be more innovative. Its more of there bread and butter than New Hollands. Just my 2cents worth. i don't think you can go wrong. ....
