I am looking at buying a 1983 B7100HST, 1670 hours, good rubber, good paint. It doesn't include any attachments and they are asking $3,850. Is a fair deal? I don't have very much knowledge about them besides what I have read on the web. I am looking for something capable of mowing 4 acres, blowing snow, tilling, and possibly adding a loader. Can this tractor handle it?

Thanks in advance

I have both a B6100 (14hp) and B7100 (16hp), both 3 cylinder diesel, 4WD HST. Neither tractor has enough horsepower to mow heavy grass with a 60 inch belly or 60 inch RFM. Both tractors have a tendency to easily overheat and push coolant out the overflow. I constantly have to watch the radiator and clean dust and grass from the cooling fins. You may already know both of these tractors use gravity cooling, ie. no water pump. While these are great little tractors, they both are operating right on the edge of the performance envelope. I have used a Kubota 48" tiller on the B6100 and it worked fine. My suggestion is go for a machine with at least 20 hp, that's what I am planning to do soon. Know anybody interested in a B6100 with a 48" belly and 1400 hours or a B7100 witha 60 inch belley and 600 hours? :-) As to your question about worth, seems like all compact tractors are worth a fortune. I think $3850 for the B7100 you mentioned and with the hours listed is probably about right..
