When going from forward into reverse the rear end makes a "popping" noise & tire visibly wobbles. Do you think this could be the bearings or the gear?

The "tire visibly wobbles?" Have you jacked it up and checked the lug bolts to see if they're loose? I believe I'd find that problem before I used the tractor anymore. ....

Depending on the model you have the wheel adjuster might be loose check it out and tighten according to the manual. ....
