I bought a fixer Kubota 6000 4wd that won't start, though it seems to have good compression. The speed control shaft seems to have a lot of play where it enters the injector pump. Any Ideas where I should start on this? Can I get any info about this tractor like what year and horsepower it might be? ThanksGeorge DeVos

Your loose shaft is not causing the problem. I have B6000 that runs fine with a lot of looseness in the shaft. You need to look at all the common diesel engine issues. They are really simple. You get fuel and air--they run. I would suggest first making sure the glow plugs work. These engines require a lot of preheating to get started. If they are working, check for clogged injectors. Good luck! ....
