Hey guys just wanted to run this by ya'll...

My alternator is 20 amps.. So Watts=Amps*Volts.

20*12=240 Watts

How much of this is being used with no lights on?

I have four 55watt lights I want to pull on the 790, 4*55watts = gives us 220, or 20 watts spare..??

Would a small auto alternator fit in there?

Or just upgrade to the 35 amp alternator = 420 watts?
Other than the OEM
High Capacity Alternator Kit (35 amp) LVB19942 $389.00
Pricey for 35 amps!!

What do you think??

Do you really need to run all 220 watts at the same time. If you do, I would upgrade the alternator. Running an alternator at 90% for long periods of time could be a problem. Not sure what the real specs are for your 20 amp alternator, but that is probably a peak rating, with an operating rating somewhere at 75% of peak. Seems like it could get tired pretty quick trying to keep up with the battery draw. ....

Add how many watts to charge battery, operate dash lights, tail lights, tractor headlights and operate solinoid(s) to run motor too.

Why 4? Can you run 2 at a time instead? My 2 x 35 watt light are plenty for snowblowing at night. ....

With nothing on, very little is used. Guages+ fuel shutoff and lift pump if your machine has these 2 items I would try it before I spent a dime. If the battery drains, you know you need to remedy the situation. ....

I was looking at the fuse pannel and there are a few empty 10, 5, 3 amp spots...

I guess i really should't need both sets on at once...

Whats your setup use 35/55 watts, with how many amps?? ....
