Hello.

I purchased an JD L118 ( this is a limited edition that is close to the L120 in specs) this spring for mowing and possible use for snow blowing. I wanted to get opinions on the JD snow blower for this model before i plunked down my 1k for it. I live in southern New Hampshire, so we get decent size storms and my drive is about 300ft with a slope up to the road. Can a snow blower on this model handle that?

I know I should have asked this before i purchased it.. wasn't thinking.

Thanks for any advice.

I used an old wheel horse with a 16HP Kohler engine and a 42 or 48 inch snow blower (single stage) to keep 750 feet of driveway plowed out here in Michigan for the last 16 years. Only ran into trouble once when we had almost two feet of snow and three to four foot drifts, and even then it took care of it, it just took forever, taking little 'bites' with the blower raised, then back with it lowered, etc. until I had it all cleared. It was a snow day, so i had all day to get it done though.
I would guess that a two stage blower (JD) with 20HP behind it would have no trouble with your driveway. Sure looks nice and clean when you're done too!
