I need some help from the experts. I have a 855, purchased for residential use. I would like to add a front loader, I think the 70A is the applicable JD implement. Question, is this model still available new? Finding a used one seems impossible. One dealer said that there is a kit to retro the new 4000 loaders. Is one better than the other for me? How do you feel about aftermarket products? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can provide.

The 70A loader is no longer manufactured, but some used loaders are available. I just purchased a 955 with very low hours. It had a 70A loader on it, but I opted to get a new 420 loader instead. The 420 has quick change attachment capability and I need to use both a bucket and a pallet fork. The JD loaders are very easy to attach and detach and the mid-mount mower deck can be left on with the loader if required. For those reasons I would favor staying with a JD loader. The Kelley DL1000 loader is a quick detach loader that is compatible with the JD belly mower. I've mounted quite a few on Yanmars & it works real well.
