There is a later model 2155 for sale in the local farmer's journal. It has 700hours, like new, and has a loader and mower. two wheel drive. Price is 20,500.I think it is somewhat overpriced, although I've not gone to look at it. If itreally is just like new with all the right accessories he might get the price...although not from me. Yours at $10,000 sounds like too good of a deal to be true. You could puta lot of money into repairs and still come out ok if you have a use for thosparticular attachments and a need for a hardworking tractor. If you are lookingfor a mowing machine this is not the rig. Roger L. ....

Yes, it is the smallest and most compact of the regular farm tractors. It wouldcompare to a 4000 series JD. The price is way too good....It must be a misprintbecause there is no amount of wear that I can think of that would make that tractor and those implements worth that little. If you don't want it, please give me a shout. 303-442-5963. If it runs at all, buy it. For comparison, there is a JD 2155 with 175 loader and 3600 hours for salethis weekend in the Denver newspaper for $21,500. Year is not given, but itwould have to be less than 12 years old I think. Typical life for an ag tractor is hard to judge. The first wear item wouldbe the engine....and they are very expensive to overhaul. But they will usuallywear out rather than break. An engine worn out for farming has decades of life left in it for the person with 5 or 10 acres. Personally, I would considerthat any engine should go 5000 hours and some go 10,000 hours or more with regular maintenance. Usually a diesel will outlast a gas. I would not mind buying atractor with 8000 hours on it if it was used for haying instead of plowing andmowing tractors with many thousands of hours are sought after. Some types ofwork just doesn't put much wear on a machine. And if you don't mind a reduction in power, hard starting (must pre-heat 'em),and some oil burning then Ag engines seem to go on forever. My 'ol JD has overTWENTY THOUSAND hours on it by the hour meter. It is a GAS machine and spenda decade in use as a stationary water pump for irrigating corn. The guy who soldit to me said he wanted to go to a motor with twice as much HP, because this oneran too hot at wide open throttle pumping water 24 hours a day! After using that tractor for 5 years I finally did a ring and valve job on it. It is just fine. I plowed snow with it last night. Roger L. ....
