First time on here and having problems with starting my old 4020. The truck has been sitting in my shop because I only use for pecan harvest once a year. The starter was redone a couple of years ago and the solenoid was giving problems so I replaced it. Now the starter was working before I replaced the starter solenoid but now it kicks the gear out but doesn’t come in contact with the flywheel. I have taken it off and used jumper cables from my truck (diesel truck) and it kicks out hard and spins fast. I did take the end off to see the bushes and all inside and they look good and even blown the dust out of it. I have about drove myself crazy with this thing. The flywheel looks good with no teeth broken off and the starter looks the same. It’s a 12 volt system using two 6 volt batteries hooked together to make it 12 volts. Any help please before I shoot this sucker.😜

Must be a different 4029=0 system than I remember. Ours had 2 12volt batteries.

I'd recheck the voltages. Clean all the contacts on the tractor. ....
