I recently acquired a JD electric Lift 112 garden tractor (neighbor said, if you can make it run you can have it). Well it runs like a Deere and I'm ready to mow. However, I may be missing a part?? I would like to find out the proper belt configuration between motor and mowing deck. How does a verticle output drive make its way down to the horizontaly mounted pulley on the mowing deck? Would appreciate any help I could get on the subject. Also would be interested in any online schematics or parts explosions on the same.

CLARIFICATION: I was temporarily confused on my vertical and horizontals. It has a horizontal output and a vertical pulley on the deck. ....

Tom, I don't know much about the 112 but I did own a 318 with a horizontal front electric clutch pto. The belt on the 318 ran from the front pto to a mule drive and then to the deck. The mule drive was located at the front of the tractor in line with the frame. The mule drive had two pulleys that were parallel to the tires. The mule drive was held in place by the tension of the drive belt that was adjustable on the mule drive by turning a threaded knob. The drive belt went from the pto, did a 1/4 turn between the pto and mule drive and another 1/4 turn leaving the pto to the mower deck. I hope this helps and I wish I had a diagram for you but I don't. Have you tried looking at a 112 with the deck already mounted? You may be able to find one at a dealership or in someone's front lawn. I think you are right, you are probably missing a part, namely the mule drive. Good luck. ....

Larry,
Thanks alot for the info. I crawled underneath the tracto and stared at the pulleys for a while, tryed this and that and finaly it went together just as you said. Appreciate the help. Now for the next hurdle. The deck goes up and down and the blades go roun and round, but, the charging system...doesn't. Any tips on what I might check? ....
