I just recently came across this message board the last couple of weeks. I am new to the tractor market, this will be my first tractor, for basically the same reasons I keep reading about on this site. I have been looking for one for several months now, here in Western N.Y. I narrowed my search down to either a JD4300 or JD4400. The biggest reason I am leaning towards Deere is because of the foot setup. I like the 2 pedal hydro, and the fact I can USE the brakes by JD moving them to the left. I wanted to get an opinion of prices I received over the weekend. JD4300, Hydro., Industrial Tires, DSCV, mid PTO, Folding ROPS, Dual rear work lights, 430 loader, w/hd 61" bucket, grill guard for $19,300. The same setup for the JD4400 at $20,600. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I priced a JD4300 4wd with hydro, Industrial tires, 5'brush hog, 5' box blade, 430 loader with the standard bucket, foldable ROPS, for $18,780. Sales tax will be another $1,000+. You can do the math. I hope this helps. ....
