I have an opportunity to buy a 1999 JD 4200 FWD with a 420 loader. It has only 29 hours and the selling price is $10,000. I have a 1/2 mile lane to plow and maintain, as well as some light work on my acreage. Won't be doing any real field work, except mowing. Any words of wisdom regarding the price, and whether it is the right machine for the job would be appreciated.

Sounds like a GREAT deal-BUT if you plan to "plow" a 1/2 mile drive way, it will take you HOURS with a FEL.
Buy the rig and tell your wife you MUST have a plow setup-that way you get to play EVEN MORE!!!
GOOD LUCK! ....
