Hey all, I have a friend who has his Model 400 sitting in his field growing moss for the last few years, and I was wondering if maybe I was up to the challenge.

He has been really unable to tell me what went wrong to cause him to park it, so it will likely be at least a partial, if not, total rebuild.

Thsi tractor 'seems' pretty simple, but of course, I could be wrong, just veiwing it from the exterior.

My questions are............

Many parts around? and if so, expensive?

Is this thing even worth anything in the condition it is in, and will it be worth much repaired?

Anyone else have much experience with the 400's?

Simply put, in your opinions.......would it even be worth the effort?
Thanks

Medic24; I can only remember of one Belarus dealer in our aeria, and they've been gone for years, very few were sold localy. Depending on how well they sold in your aeria would have a lot to do with parts. I've had some experience trying to bring a couple old Farmall "H" tractors back to life that had sat in a grove or field for years. Unless the Belarus is of some special collector value the "Pasture Finds" in any brand will usually cost more to save than they are worth. Best of luck. Frank. ....
