My 2000 tc 18 boomer smoked all diesel smoke on start up it fires on heat of compression so a cold motor smoke fool does it smoke when hot ??

If it’s blue smoke it is lube oil if black it is fuel when hot and black it is too rich bad injection it knocks on startup due to no oil pressure after 30seconds mine stops smoothed out mine has almost 900 hours burns no oil but I use lube oil for tractor trailer engines 20 40 weight it turns black in 2 months of grass cutting due to detergent in the oil change it every 90 hours and filter every 45 hours it will last forever.

You guys are clueless about diesels better get a gas tractor I can cut my 4 acres each week for a month on 5 gal of fuel a gas used that each week oh well it is a jap motor runs flawlessly 60 in mower deck run at 2000 rpms cutting heavy grass hydro static drive 4 wheel drive two speed low and high got it now guys

Thanks for your reply! Actually we get as much wet snow as powder. We have a foot on the ground right now and it is heavy. Still snowing and what is coming down is pretty dry.

I have cleaned and change all filters, also new oil, took off the pressure line from the pump to the p valve no pressure or oil from front pump. took off line from the transmission pump to the front pump all kinds of oil. Checked the trans pump per jd, should pump 1 gallon per every 10 seconds at 2500 rpms. Pump in trans is to specs. I am now taking out the front pump. Fun job! Will keep you posted!

Hi I found a Long Tractor for sale near by but am inquiring advise before i think about making an offer. I spoke with the guy briefly about it and its a 1989 '73HP' diesel with loader, 4WD, and canopy Front tires are new and rear tires are loaded. He said it has about 1000hrs on it...he said when he purchased it after 50 hrs. the meter stopped working... so I am not to sure if he's pullin' my leg as far as honest hours but he did claim he put roughly 300-400 on it when he bought it... Also If any one could give me some advise on what to look for on these tractors and what a reasonable price would be for this tractor. Thank you.

Seems like the seller is willing to go down to $19,000.00 to sell. He purchased Nov 2007 and was using to move sand/dirt but business dropped off and he rarely uses now and still owes about 19,00 for tractor.

Hi, I have a John Deere 650 tractor with a 261 grooming mower that is pto shaft driven, I am looking to buy a replacement shaft does anyone know a good place that still carries a pto shaft for that machine, My nephew was going to mow my fields and was backing to attach the deck and planted mt PTO Shaft in the dirt and mangled it ;) I am having a hard time locating the shaft any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks<br>

Everyone gave good advise regarding use of kerosene to prevent jelling. I have used Coleman Lantern fuel in machinery to cut the jelled condition but, you don't want to put it in filters full strength. It has worked by just
pouring in the fuel tank and waiting.

For damn good BBQ I'd suggest 2 places, if you're ever in that area. My number 1 pick would be Wild Horse Mountain Bar-B-Q, near Sallisaw, OK. The place ain't much to look at but they make it up in taste. Number 2 would have to be Bodacious Bar-B-Q in Longview, TX.

I have never or do I care to own a BMW. I thought I would share a story however. I worked with a young man whom got a BMW in his mid 20's because he wanted to impress his dates. He only kept the car 2 years, I asked how it went with the ladies and the car. He replied that he should have gotten a pickup, his buddy met more ladies that wanted to go 4 wheelin than he met that wanted to ride in a BMW.

Most people I asked that had 3 point hoe attachments advised me against them, and recomended at least a subframe unit. I looked a long time, did test runs, and kept notes. I finally bought a used Terramite that was in really good condition. It is awesome, however it is built as a loader backhoe only, I can't cut grass with it.

My 2005 silverado has dents in the sides from people leaning against it. The hood is dented where I pushed down to latch it. These really show on the dark blue. I had to replace the steering rack at 60,000 miles. The drivers seat bottom had to be replaced at 80,000 miles. I have only adveraged 14 MPG since it was new with the 4.8 engine. Needless to say I am very dissapointed,I hope to go back to Ford next time.

I am happy that you go such good mileage. My 2005 silverado 1500 with the 4.8 engine has only adveraged 14 MPG since new. I hear a lot of persons talk about poor mileage in cold weather, it has to be the gasoline.
