I have used a couple of the less expensive 3-point mounted fertilizer and grass seed spreaders and found that they worked pretty well for fertilizer, but did not work at all well for grass seed. The literature on the Herd Model 750 has grabbed my attention, but no dealer in my area has one in stock to examine. Hpopefully, some of you with experiences (either good or bad) with various brands and models of such implements will can share those experiences or make a recommendation for a quality spreader that will do a good job with fertilizer AND grass seed (and perhaps salt or lime). ThanksMike S.

You won't find anything more accurate then a Vicon Pendulum spreader, it will spread anything that is dry flowable, but you will need a different spout for sand. ....

In have owned a 750 for years, It is a solid, dependable unit. You must keep it clean and it will last for years. I became interested in it because I stopped at the factory and saw how it was made. very well put together. It is also more reasonably priced than a Vicon. I got mine 8 years ago for around $750.00. There are some adjustments to make when you spread different types of material. but all in all it is a great unit. ....
