My logic (oh-oh) says that the under-surface of mower blades should be horizontal. Various setup instructions (including mine) specify that the FRONT should be one metric smidge LOWER than the rear. Why would that be good?

auerbach: I think the reason is that in theory having the front of the deck a smidged lower that the first time the mower blade contacts a blade of grass that it is cut instead of again in theory if the blades were absolutely parallel to the ground the mower blade would keep whacking away at the same blade of grass giving it a ragged looking cut. OK Murf, how'd I do? ....
