I had the dealer representative out here last year, to free an obviously "Stuck" clutch. He rode it as fast as possible, jammed it into high range, then stood on the brakes. That did it. Said it happens when she sits too long, instructed me to place blocks of 2x4's to holding the clutch off the flywheel. That seemed to work, after the winter season (more moisture) there's a bunch of noise(sounds like the throw-out bearing) and the tractor only moved a few dozen yards, then would not move. Letting it sit for a month, I tried again, she moved albeit only in low range, got it to high range and attempted the same thing he did. Clutch worked, moved 2 logs, (about an hour) then back to low range and nothing. Now on flat ground it will not move in 4W or 2WD. I need this machine, any suggestions? (except better maintenance, I already figured that out, LOL)

I remember back in the late 70's early 80's we were the northeast distributer for Same tractors. It seemed that while coming across in the early days that the salt air would get into the clutch housing and rust up the shafts. Although I can only remember having to split a couple in our shop normally a high gear run and hitting the brakes would jar them loose.
It does sound like yours is a bad one and I'd recommend splitting so your costs might be lower possibly not having worn out the clutch disc yet. ....
