 Blue comp to JD2210??

I'm considering consolidating my JD318/Ford 8n into one compact util tractor. Been looking at JD2210, or maybe the 4000 series...

I mow about 2-3 acres, and maintain about 5 - so I want a HST tranny, 60" MMM, snow plow, FEL, backblade and brush hog.

What would be equivalent/suitable Ford New Holland models, and what are pros and cons of each make/model? Ther are solid dealers for both brands nearby in central Michigan, but I'd like some user feedback also. Thanks.

-AJ

In addition to Blue you also have Red which are basically the same thing. Janson equipment has branches in Reese and Merrill/Breckenridge. Weiss Equipment is also in Frankenmuth. The designations for sub-compacts in Red are DX18E and DX24E which both come only in hydrostatic drive. The next step up are DX21 and DX 24 with slightly larger frame size before going to the DX29 and DX 33 frame size. The number is the gross horsepower. The next frame jump is DX35,DX40 & DX45. The D21,D24,D29 and D33 are the numbers for a 9X3 gear version. D35,D40 & D45 are 12 x 12 synchro.

If you are doing brush hogging, not finish mowing, I would think the DX33 would be a good unit size. That has a 63 inch wheelbase and 2,500lb. weight for base tractor.

If you like Green, Bader Brothers has branches in Reese, Birch Run & Saginaw. I think it is another Bader company the has the branch in Merill/Breckenridge.

The JD 3320 has 32.5 HP, weighs about 500 lbs. more and is 2-3 inches longer than the DX33. The older model JD 4110 is about the same as the 3320. JD also has had model 4010,4110 and 4115. I'm not sure about their current lineup since they just brought out new models this year. They are 18.5, 20 and 24 HP respectively and kinda fall in line with the DX 21,24 & 29.

All these guys have inventory so you can ride'm and choose.

The Blue versions have a TC prefix instead of DX. "X" means hydrostatic in Red.

You go yoopperpete! What a great post! You had some great info there too bad he may not see it all! He has the right idea. The one size fits all tractor is outstanding!. I would go with around a 29 or 33 for what he is describing, especially with the snow possibility in MI.

Weiss Equipment has a used Blue TC25D with Woods loader, turf tires, 180 hrs and folding ROPS. Dan List is the salesman. Offer him less than asking price, it has been setting around a while.

 Blue comp to JD2210??

I just bought a NEW HOLLAND TC-30 Compact tractor. It is Hydrostat drive with high , medium, and low range.
It is also 4 wheel drive.
I had a 60 inch Front end loader installed ,
And a 60 inch mid mount loader installed .
Also had them put a block heater on it.
I had the R4 Industrial tires put on it.
Ive looked at a lot of tractors, red, green . blue, orange etc. but price, quality , and service are on top of eveyones list.
The only problem I had in the end to decide was between the TC-24 OR TC-30.
I went with the TC-30 because I brush hog abought 8-10 acers of land and want to try to use a tiller to plant a couple food plots. (I have a 5 ft. brush hog.)
So far I,ve mowed the lawn and brush (mostly hay ) cut around 4 acers of land .
I love the tractor its like driving a cadilac compared to some I,ve driven.
Tractor has great power and the turning radius is great.
Make sure you compare all the options before you decide.
One nice extra was they just extended the Hew Holland 0 % financing to 5 yrs.
Good luck ............
