 TC 35/40/45 VS TC 48/55

Does anyone know if the TC 48 and TC 55 are a bigger chasis then the TC 35, 40 or 45...is it worth it to bump up to the TC 48?

The TC 48 & 55 have the same larger frame and use a larger loader. You would be going from a 1386 lb. lift at 19.7 height to 1830 lb. I believe the 48 does not come in hydro however the 55 does. Wheelbase goes from 73.5" to 74.8". The tires get bigger, etc. That is a pretty good size tractor. You're getting into a pretty nice sized toy with lots of green. What are you planning to do with it?

We're just planning to mow about 4 acres and use it for dirt work, probably the TC40 will work just fine, I was just going to price the bigger model...

Some people use sub-compacts to mow 4 acres and do light loader work. It depends on how fast you want to do it or how much you want to lift. Sounds like the 40 with have plenty of power and size to do what you want with ease.

To clarify Yooper is half right. The 48 and 55 are both gear drive and hydro drive in available yet. But the 55 is available with hydro electric shuttle shift and the 48 is not. For only 4 acres you are really pushing it with the 40 if I were you I would be looking at the 33. Are you looking for mid or rear mounted mower? I can tell you that if you are looking for mid the 40 is a real bear to get set and leveled to mow a nice looking lawn do to its size of 84" and the linkage used to support it. The 33 is relatively easy and you have many deck options, 60" and 72" side discharge and 72" rear discharge.

I plan to use a Woods rear finish mower, 72 or 84 inches. I realize I don't need the TC48, but I really like the 35 or 40. I probably could get by on the TC33 BUT for the extra price difference of about $1800 to go to the 35, you get a lot more tractor!

If you look at the hp to weight ratio you are not gaining any thing but a larger bucket and a few pounds of lift between the 33 and the 35. The 33 can handle a 72" rear mower with no problems. If you want to go with the bigger tractor I would strongly suggest going up to the 40.

There is a reason that the 35 is the least popular out of all the models of the TC tractor.

Why is the TC35 the least popular? That's the one I was really looking at and have test driven.

Due to having the lowest Hp to weight ratio and marginal torque compared to the smaller 33(which has the same engine) and the larger 40(which has a 4cyl engine).

THANKS. So I need to either down size to the 33 or fork out the extra $1400 to go the to TC40. I'm not sure what to do! If I have a TC 40 on a tandem axle trailer do you think I can pull it with a 1/2 ton pick up truck, or should I go to a TC33 , I know the TC33 weighs less and may trailer better than the TC40. I won't be moving it a lot, but there will be times when I will load it on a trailer.
