My JD 2840 has a chronic hyd. oil leak around both load control shaft seals. They were replaced last spring using the kit, new shaft seals and housings. Started to leak over the winter when not in use. Shims were put in tight as recommeded by JD. Any suggestions welcome.

You are probably a better mechanic, but was the shaft worn any? I am trying to replace my seals again. The last ones lasted about 5 yrs. The best that I remember was the housing of mine is starting to get egg shaped. Shims and replacement of shaft are the only answers that I have gotten from my dealer.
You do have to drive the load shaft all the way out of the tractor to get to the seals don't you? ....
