Thats good! We have China tractors here and they have JD there. Life is good!

Maybe they will invite us to their web site to share info.

I guess I'm being bad...

Can anyone tell me how many John Deere tractors were manufactured in China in 2003? Thank you.

One is one too many. You can almost see where they are going with this,it's dollars and cents.(My opinion)It's just a matter of time, first they cave to home depot's
tactics and undercut all of the long time family owned JD
dealers, now they are building them where people get a few dollars a day and no regulations.
I am all for free enterprise, but on a level field.

American Made? Ain't no such animal. Well maybe a few nuts and bolts.

I hear Wal Mart is gonna start hiring Chinese, to go along with all the "Made In China" stuff they sell.

Cheap labor, cheap goods and high profits. That'll make their stock go way up. Get out your Smiley Faces Wink yeah right

? JD has been manufacturing tractors in other countries for years. I personally don't see anything wrong with JD manufacturing tractors in China for their market and some export. Seems like a better deal than buying the 5000 series from south Korea.
Is it wrong for Ford to manufacture cars in Europe for their market and a few exports or GM to manufacture cars in Germany for their market and some exports?
With a country the size of the US and a billion people China must need some tractors. Personally I would rather have them painted green and adding to the health of JD than blue and the health of Fiat or Orange and the health of Kubota.

It may not be wrong, but it is different.Namely the standard of living of the competing worker in Germany or other European countries is on par or better than the U.S. Last report on standard of livings of the world I read, had Sweden #1 and the U.S.#10. I've spent time in Sweden,we have a ways to go.
Also the regulation of enviromental laws and health insurance, safety in manufacturing,to name a few. From what
I've read this is the big draw to China ,Mexico+ India. Profit!
I would buy Japanese, German or Swedish made anytime and do. I know it's almost
impossible, but I try to avoid products made with what I consider slave labor.

I view any report about standard of living that rates socialist countries like Sweden above the U.S. as suspect, and would certainly want to see the ratings criteria of such a study. The confiscatory tax rate of socialist countries makes me think that they are slave countries too.
