Is there any way to buy a front blade for a Deere 430 garden tractor and necessary attachments to raise and angle the blade without buying the current Deere setup that costs $1500 ($800 for the mounting attachment, $200+ for the hydraulics to angle the blade, $80 for some bracket, and like $400 for the blade?

Steve, I just recently bought a used 54" blade for our 430 thru a dealer. The blade actually fits the JD-400 and JD-420 tractors. It was necessary to purchase a front adapter kit (~$110) to adapt the mount to the 430. I payed $500 for the used blade in good condition. Have you tried your local JD Dealer, newspaper classifieds or swap sheet for a used blade? Hope this information helps and good luck. Regards

I see this is an old message and you may have already found the answer. But yes, you can get a used 54" Deere blade with hydraulics that was used on several older Deere models (400, etc) an buy an $80 bracket that fits on your 430 to attach the blade. The hydraulics than plug right in for raise/lower and angle. ....
