Rick... Sorry for the late reply! I tried to post a couple of times earlier, but never got thru... I just bought a TC29D from Wichita Ford Tractor. I live about an hour north of Wichita. No big problems, but a couple of the pre-delivery check items had not been done. When I complained, the salesman apologized profusely, picked up the tractor, re-did the stuff, and delivered it in 3 days... all on their nickel. I'm satisfied with that. Otherwise, I'm enjoying it! Didn't check on a 33; I paid $14,068 for my TD29D w/o supersteer.

Chris... I just got a TC29D with a NH 7308 loader. Since the tractors are the same physical size, I would expect yours would take the same loader. Compared to a big-tractor loader, it's a little light weight (in every sense), but for my needs it's fine. I very much appreciate the ease of installing and removing... both only take a couple of minutes, no tools. I didn't look at using another brand loader, but I would guess you might give up the easy on/off feature. Others may have more experience than I!

mls... Surprisingly, NH's have a regular clutch between the engine and the HST. FYI. (I have a TC29D). ...Richard

My (new) tractor is a NH TC29D, but I'd like to hear comments from owners of any color tractor:<br>1. Conditions: Engine off, HST neutral (foot off pedal), range-shift mid or high (NOT neutral), tractor on solid smooth concrete with slight slope down/front (the apron in front of my garage), brakes off. Given a little shove from behind, my tractor will proceed to gently roll down the slope. My only previous experience with HST is on my lawn tractor, which will not budge under similar conditions. Do I have a problem here?<br>2. Conditions: Normal operation, pushing into large dirt pile with loader (i.e. up against immovable object), 4WD, range-shift low, Tractor will spin all wheels. OK so far. BUT range shift mid or high, will neither spin nor stall engine. I thought hydros were more positive. Just took delivery of a TC29D. Turf tires, mostly for mowing, but I decided to get a loader too. (glad I did!) In low range, mine will readily spin all four (well, 3 anyway) wheels when pushing with the loader against a dirt pile. In mid range, it will

They didn't have the tractor in stock, but once the salesman was convinced I was serious, he located one at another dealer right away. you are correct! I paid 750 which included safety chains but no clutch. I should have bought one with a clutch since the pins seem to break often although its may be to early to tell!! $3.50 each time.

Hello all... I'm wondering about the differences between the NH TC25(D) and the TC29(D). According to my spec<br>sheet, they have the same engine, only the 29 runs a bit faster. Question: Are the PTOs geared different? I.e. what is<br>the engine speed of each @ 540 PTO rpm?

It will not stop when you push in clutch, mostley in creeper or reverse, if you have<br>30 hrs and no problem you are one of the lucky ones, this is a problem which is there<br>when you buy the tractor, so if it has not done it, it wont.

I purchased a Howse 5' mower three years ago and have mowed a lot of tough saplings with it as well as orchard grass. It does a good job on both and leaves a nice smooth cut on the grass. ( I was intending to purchase a finish mower but the Howse does such a good job I dont think I need one). The one problem that I have experience is is loose gearbox bolts several times after mowing saplings. These bolts on the Howse are particularly difficult to get to to tighten but it can be done. Also the top bracket of the hitch is an usually design and I have had difficulty in getting a Speeco speed hitch to work with this mower. I paid 480 dollars new, delivered, and certainly satisfied overall.

New Holland is a good choice. I was lucky and picked up a used Ford 1900 with only 450 hours on it and in like new shape. I previously had an old Massey Feguson TO35 which was ok but I wasted a lot of time trying to start it. I am now comepletly sold on diesel engine tractors and would never have gas again. My tractor starts in all weather( the day I first went to see it, it was 6 below zero and it had been sitting in a shed all winter, but a tweak of the plug heater and it started right off) It came with a loader which I used to make a drive and then took off ( loaders are a bit of a problem when not in use so try and get one with a quick hookup) I dont have powersteering and have not missed it as yet. It had fluid filled tires when I got it and I quickly got rid of those suckers. Balance your tractor with weights and keep the tires filled with air. I have been lucky with used tractors and learned that you have to watch out for dealers who sell them. If I had the money I would have bought new but coulnt afford it. John Deere is of course good but overprices on everything, implements etc. Good cheap implements are readily available new and used if you shop around. I have never spent more than 400 dollars for a mower, etc.
