(first time poster) I'm in process of assembling a packaged offer on a new Kubota B7500, FEL, box blade, etc. and have a question concerning the not so obvious differences between a mmm and rmm. The b7500 has both mid and rear PTO and I'm aware of the "swing-out" factor of 3pt implements. I'm just wondering. Of those that have finish mowers, are there distinct differences in functionality? I live in the hill laden area of east TN and have about 2 acres of f-mowing.
Thanks-

I change implements often and from what I read, MMM is not for me. I have used a Landpride RMM for about 4 years now and I'm very satisfied.
If you can leave the MMM on for other work, I'd say go for it. ....

I think it kind of depends on what your plans are. If you do not have the need to utilize a RMM, a MMM will work fine. The major difference being the swing but also the ability, once you've mastered the swing, to creep that baby right under your trees on a swing. With the MMM, typically, one would have the inability to do this due to the bulkyness of the FEL and hind quarters of the tractor. Personally, I have used both, but prefer the RMM.

I have used a rmm for the past year... I cuts great.... but if you are going to mow any side hills it will have tendancey to slide down hill... That being said... I am using a B7100 with 170lbs of front weights... if you have a heavier machine, FEL or no side hills, the rmm is great... providing you have plenty of straight mowing... the more turns or small areas which you mow, the more you will want a mmm IMO ....

I've used my 3-point hitch finish mower for over 2 years now and am happy with it. I use my tractor for many different things, and can't give up the ground clearance by leaving a mmm on, nor give up the time required to install and remove it.

There are several things to consider. If you have a lot to trim around the mid mower is in a far better poistion to see how close you are coming to. The mid will also help you get into smaller areas. On wetter lawns the mid has less tires going over it to pack it down and not cut well. Many older people don't like to have to turn around all the time so then it requires more mowers to do one job. The rear you can stick under pines and other low hanging trees. The rear is easier to take off without a doubt. ....
