Thank you! I really didn't know how to get the air out (if there is some) and figured there was some process to follow to bleed the lines. But if it's just a matter of working it till the air is out, I'll give that a shot. Learning something new every minute! It's gonna be a couple weeks before I get back to our farm (damn full time job! :-) ) But I'll post a response as soon as I can try it. Thanks again.

My DF254 will get hot when I'm brushhogging, but after letting it idle for a while it will cool down and usually stays well within the desired temp range. I was wondering, where you put the battery to get it away from the radiator?
I just got an electric fan from a car and was going to make the same arrangement.

I've had a DF254 with a DF loader for almost 2 years and over 200 hours and I think is one of my best investments. I destroyed the clutch and Zephyr Farms (http://www.zkftractors.com) rebuilt it for me and it's like new. I have to take full credit for destroyimg the clutch and no blame should go to DongFeng. I had originally purchased it with turf tires and I would pop the clutch too often to get a running start when trying to use it as a bulldozer, which it was now designed for. Since Chuck at Zephyr rebuilt the clutch (kindly repremanded me) and put ag tires with wheel weights it just pushes like the bulldog it is. I think a hydrostatic trans would be nice in some instances, but the additional cost and related complexity made me steer away from it. The loader itself has issues so I would recommend the Koyker brand if you get a DF tractor.

Keep the ztr mower. Regardless of what people may tell you, the boomer with mower will not do the job mowing the ztr will. You will wish you had the ztr back.
