Does anybody have a rear axle housing for a Gator? I need one for my 6x4 and I think they are the same as the 4x2. Thank you.

My 29D has been giving me starting trouble so I read through these threads. It turned out to be the neutral range switch (I think that's the right name) although I also had a weak battery and a broken battery post connector. I jiggled the shift lever a bit and it fired right up. I'll have to look at the switch itself later to see if it is damaged. Thanks for sharing your expertise guys.

How old was your machine? I am looking at a JD AMT 622 for sale in my area for $4000. It is at a dealer who took it as part of a trade in. I think that they are asking too much and I want to know how much too much.

Are JD AMT 622 machines 4 drive wheels with a single tire in front?

I have found a 1982 Massey 210 with 900 hours It has a new 5Ft rotary mower. The guy is asking $3500.00. I was wondering 1. Is this a good deal? (It Seems to be in good shape) 2) is it possible to put a loader on this tractor.

I am new to tractors and I am looking for my first one. I have 3 acres that will be used for a homestead and the tractor will be used for all types of work on this uncleared land. Any help would be appreciated

My tractor was in the dealer and recieved the vent cap update now ( about 2 months later) the cooler sprung a leak. It was awhile before the tractor was shut down (about 2 minutes).I hpoe this did not ruin the hydro pump. Now they say they will put in a whole new battery. I'm not happy about having to pay 50 dollars to have the dealer pick it up for a known design flaw! Comments?

I don't think you would be able to dump much at all. Yes, you could clear the side of the truck bed (barely), but as you tilt, I think the bucket would tend to "pinch" the side of the bed.

As to comfort, I'd have to say its fairly good. My wife and I are average in height(around 5'7" to 5'9"), but my wife has a very bad back. She can't sit or stand for long periods of time. But she is able to run the PT422 for at least a couple of hours without it causing her pain. This is considerably better than any lawnmower that we have had in the past.

However, for someone with long legs, it might be a bit cramped. It is a bit awkward to get into, but I can't decide if being taller would help or not. Once in, there's a reasonable amount of room. I suspect the seat could be moved back a bit if necessary (rebolted), but I'm going on memory here since I'm at work. I'll try and take a closer look tonight and let you know what I see.

While I don't think one is significantly better than the other, I went with the PT422. Both tractors are basically the same, except for the roll bar/canopy and motor.

The roll bar/canopy is available as an option ($500) for the PT422 whereas its included as standard for the PT425. But, the PT422 is $1000 less than the PT425 ($7000 vs $8000), so you'd still be $500 ahead when comparing apples to apples.

So, the only difference is in the motor. I decided to go with the PT422 with the Robin motor. At the time, there was some info on the Kohler website (that I cannot find now) that led me to not like it quite as well. Since I can't find this information to reference it now, I'm not going to say anything further about this subject until I locate it again.

The other issue in comparing the motors is HP and torque. And that is subject to debate. The testing methods used for the specs on the motors may have been different, so a direct comparison may not be possible. There is conflicting information on the Kohler website as to what method of testing was used � one place it lists one ASTM method and in another it lists a different method. So I don't know which is correct.

In any case, it all comes down to what you're comfortable with. If you have a local service that works with Kohler on a regular basis, then that could be a deciding factor (though I would wish no one any trouble with their motor!) I suspect either engine will work fine or PowerTrac wouldn't be using both.

Finally, I picked and chose what implements I wanted. I would have had limited (or no) use for several of the items in the trailer package. Plus, I don't plan on going too far with the tractor where the trailer would provide a big benefit (beyond keeping everything in one place or for easy access for mounting and dismounting the implements).
