He was trying to be nice and was cutting a large field of grass when I was at work. His hearing is bad, so I suspect that he had the trottle cranked up on the mistaken impression that the gas pedal on a tractor works like the pedal on a car -- the more the push down the higher the engine revs. He also managed to run over one of my peach trees on the same day, but that is another story. Again, thanks for the helpful replies. I am still waiting for the dealer to pick up the tractor, so it looks like I will be doing a bit of push mower work this weekend.
