1994 LONG 2460. I have a fuel leak coming from the Manual Retard Pin located on the bottom-inside portion of Pump. The pin is a lever that somehow helps in cold starting by retarding the timing whenever you push in the Fuel Shutoff while starting. Anyway I can reach this part by removing the starter. I also have found a replacement part on importtractorparts.net so I can replace it. <br>

HERE IS MY QUESTION: Is this procedure safe? Does it have anything to do with the governor? I would hate to replace this device and have my engine run wild and explode. OR should I remove the pump and have a professional repair it?<br>

If anyone has had this problem I would appreciate your input.
