It would appear all my complaints about my 2004 B2910 were listened to by the people of Japan. This new B Series looks better than my tractor with a better view of the front, the loader has NO CROSS BAR, it has a REAL toolbox, the loader hydraulic lines are protected, the foot pedal adopted a similiar design to the L30 series and this guy even has a place for my Beer..I mean pop. Bravo Kubota. Anyone know the cost of this baby? Wish I had waited just one more year.

Can a hood on the B2910 be repaired by a body shop or should I buy a new hood? Also if any work is done by myself would it void the warranty? I was quoted $250 for a new hood anyone have a suggestion in how I can repair my hood. This hood was damaged by the cross bars on the loader that hit the hood after it was removed incorrectly.

My dad is now on his 3rd hood. Honestly, if you follow the directions in the manual you will not have a problem but if you do not, like my dad, it is VERY easy to hit the hood. My dad does not tilt the bucket and lift the front wheels off the ground to remove the bucket from the bottom pins...he just moves the boom out at an angle without tilting the bucket down which causes the cross arm to come in contact with the hood as it moves out of the bottom pins...on the 3 dealers of Kubota I talked to they say people have hit the hoods so it must not be that hard to do. I would say this is more a problem with ease of use also the bar goes over the gas cap which seems like a poor design..for the novice tractor owner who does not like to read manuals it can be a problem to remove and put on the loader. I hope the next generation of B2910 do not have a cross bar and use that high strenght forgiving fiberglass instead of that thin metal.

from these comments it is becoming clear that only morons own B series Kubotas...Sadly, I am one of them. Kubota's lack inovation and looks. botton line they suck. The metal on the deere mow decks is thicker..your facts are wacked. If you really love Kubota why don't you buy mine?

Wow!

You ladies have been busy. Rather than tell me to stop "whining" why do you not counter my remarks with intelligent reasons why Kubota is a good tractor..it is becoming clear to me that most of you sell these orange clunkers why else would get so defensive. Let me respond to a few of your posts.

Oliver: "you did not do your homework." This response implies that if I had done my homework my choice would be another tractor most likely a Deere.

Murf: How can the cross bar touch the hood it is 3" above it? DA! I agree WHY WHY WHY. A more intelligent answer might be...because of a POOR design. If my Dad can make this error anyone can...

echo10mp: Yes I have no doubt it is good for the money. a Ford Focus is good for the money but wouldn't one rather drive a benz? especially if the price is damn near the same??

Murf: I am not sure what you are saying.........although I think it is assuming that we are not intelligent. My dad is suffering from cancer and so his hand eye coordination is limited needless to say he graduated from Cornell and MSU so he knows more than most of you people.. This tractor is NOT user friendly period.

Yes, I would much prefer the JD 4310 but since no one is willing to trade for my orange clunker I am stuck. Anyone out considering a Kubota take a GOOD look. It will be clear to anyone who "does your homework" these tractors once had the market but now are inferior to both Deere and NH. I now know what the "B" stands for in B2910 B...A....D!

My problems with the Kubota are justified and my dealer has such a hard time selling these things that he has a rental business on the side. Kubota service at this place is beyond bad. Should one wait 2months for a part and then when that part does come in it is not complete...yes I am still waiting..going on 2.5months now...why don't you get a life kubotadork.

Anyone know if adding plastic washers and "o" rings to the loader joystick will stop the noise? I found a message on another site that has pictures on where the washers go but I was wondering if taking this thing apart is a great deal harder than it looks and if so will I screw up the current settings?...anyone done this..if so help a brother out. Thanks.

I inquired about the same thing for my 60"MMM. They tell me that none exist....you can get a kit but apparently it will not really solve the problem....maybe that double blade thing will work. I am shocked at the lack of innovation with these decks...my dad had an old 1967 JD 110 and it had basically the same mow deck...3 blades..and get this..NO ZERTS...I would expect at least some improvements for almost 40yrs.

Anyone know if Kubota sells a Mulching kit for the 60" MMM? I have seen the 40" type but that is it.....would be nice..I get such piles of grass.

Ok,

Here is what you do. Test drive both a B2910, L3130 and a JD 4310 making sure all have the attachments you want. These tractors are about the same price but I think you will find the John Deere much easier to work with. The loader for the Kubota (B series-LA402) has this annoying cross bar that goes directly over the fuel cap?? After talking with my dealer about this matter he informed me that many people have smashed the hoods with this bar when taking the loader on/off.. Also regarding the Kubota loader you have to remove these pins in the sides removing them usually is not that hard but to put them back in will usually require a rubber mallet. The JD has one lever you touch to remove the loader and putting it back on does not require pins. I have a B2910 so I know what I am talking about it is not fun and wish I had the JD. Both the 4210 and 4310 JD have more torque than the B series tractors don't be fooled by just looking at hp look at torque instead. Good luck.

Well,

I do not have a BX23 but a B2910 and if I had to do it over again I would of got the 4310 John Deere. You see I did not do enough research and put to much stake in the Kubota dealer. The john deere is the best out there don't let anyone fool you. If you want inovation and comfort do not get Kubota. Do research talk to people who own a Bx23. Test drive and if you still are not sure.....see if you can rent one for your property BEFORE you sign your life away.

I have a B2910. Just because they say Catagory I does not mean much. Take a look at the max wt on each and fit this to your impliments. I notice a dramatic difference in not just thickness of the metal but in the design of the JD 4310 and L3130 3PH compared to the B2910 and all are Cat I.

Murf,

The dealer made a visit...as it turns out the factory put the telescopic arms on backwords this is why the stabalizing bar bent. I must now must wait till next wednesday till I can plow because the dealer does not have the part and had to order it....guess this was missed during the "inspection." Sure hope I did not get a lemon or "orange" in this case.

Ok, lets say you get the B7800 and then oopps an accident with the 60". The manual for the B2910 recommends a 48" rotary (bush hog). If one damages the tractor with a 60" your warranty is void. Don't just listen to the dealers they will tell you it can move mountains..take the info with a grain of salt. Get a manual for the tractor you are interested in and see what is recommended.

This phase out is news to me.....curious though since I own a '04 B2910. The dealer really wanted me to go with the B7800 but I wanted the added features. Seems odd that Kubota would want to limit features....features to me just make the entire tractor experience that much more enjoyable..

Yes,

I agree completely test drive both machines for at least an hour. Better yet, rent one for your property (cost $150 day) You will never be sure you got the right tractor untill it is actually used on your property. The controls on these tractors are very different so be sure you test each one do not just read comments and look at them but REALLY get to know them. After purchasing a B2910 Kubota I have grown to dislike the loader joystick, seat, lever mechanisims and, unfortunately, it is unlikely I will be able to do anything about it now. (However, because I used a credit card there might still be hope in trying to get a full refund.) Do not make the same mistake TEST, TEST, TEST.
