Hi Guys,<br>
Just wanted to let you know I just bought a BX2230, 60"MMM, LA211 FEL and extra set rims w/bar tires= $12,696 no tax. I am very satisfied, won't waste any more time searching specification/comparison charts; but I'm also very ANXIOUS! My brother in Ohio is picking it up during the week and bringing it over to Pa on Easter Sunday! My brother and family will be driving straight to join us for church where I'll be doing the song leading. From the pulpit, I can see the parking lot where his F350 crew cab and trailer w/my shiny new orange tractor will be sitting. What a distraction! Thanks for helping w/my decision.<br>

It's not so much the size of the stump/tree, but the species that makes the difference. Where I live, mainly wild cherry, locust and elm prevail. I never saw any size cherry I couldn't push over with the Bobcat (whole tree, not stump) because they have such a shallow root base, but the elm is a different story! Even a small elm (6" dia) will break off before giving up it's capillary root network. I think Abbeywoods had the right idea, big machine first; then Bobcat; then finish up. Once again, the deficiency is mine, not the BX23's.

Thanks for the explanation (and the education). The digging force is controlled by the relief valve setting rating, extra energy is bypassed back to the system, as long as the tractor mounted hydraulic pump can produce the same (or greater) output as the relief setting of said backhoe. And I guess relief valves are chosen based on the physical stress limitations of the hoe's components. That will help me make my choice.

I will be using the tractor to cut grass, bushhog, and loader everyday for the ponies; manure and replacing clay floors occasionally. I would also like to get rid of some trees in the woods (dig the roots w/hoe?) if capable. I'll either get the BX alone or the Kioti CK20HST w/loader/hoe AND a JD lawn tractor (L120) for cutting grass only. I know the Kioti hoe takes some time to attach/detach but it has 50% higher breakout force at bucket, (2940lbs) vs Kubota BX23 (1940). The great thing is........it's a buyers' market. It's like buying a current digital camera...can't hardly go wrong.

I'VE ALREADY DECIDED TO BUY AT LEAST A BX2230, BUT I'D REALLY LIKE TO HAVE THE BX23, BUT IF AFTERMARKET HOE WOULD WORK WELL ON THE BX2230; I'LL BUY THE BX2230 AND GET THE HOE LATER$. DOES ANYONE OWN A AFTERMARKET HOE FOR BX2230?<br>
