Thanks to Tom and JD for the good observations and questions. The hydraulic system seems to work fine, there is no hissing or engine strain. The cylinders look good and straight, and there is no mechanical sticking point which I could find. The bucket just sticks a little in either tilt direction, regardless of the load. The control lever feels normal, and its not a great problem, as moving the lever to center and back frees it up. It just interferes with the smooth flow of things, and I worry about it becoming a greater problem. The only thing unusual about the tractor when I got it back from the mid-PTO install was the hyd fluid was way over-filled, and at first I thought that this was the problem. But after sucking out 1 1/2 quarts of fluid and returning the level to a little high on the dip stick, nothing changed. Any other ideas are appreciated. Also, I'm still trying to find a good deal on a front mounted snow blower for my JD770.

My father is interested in purchasing a 210-4 with 300 hours and in near perfect condition. The price quoted to him was $5695.00.<br>I know very little about this compact tractor. Any help on the value or a similar brand tractor that would be more durable or dependable. <br>The 4wd was the desirable factor. jd

Background:<br>I just purchased a 4300 Sync-Reverser. Have about 5 hours on the tractor. The first 4 hours were spent doing some blackberry clearing (it had 1 hour on it when I purchased it). During that time a few stumps and logs were ran over gingerly. After the clearing I noticed a heavy leak from the transmission drain plug housing (Suction Screen Cover, picture on pg 126 of owners manual). I dropped by my dealer and asked if they could take a look. The message back was bring it in and we should have it back in about a week. I decided to check it out myself. I thought it had to be a failed gasket so I ordered one up and was told it would be in the next day. 5 days later, it came in. I pulled the suction screen cover off last night and the gasket looked fine. I then inspected the cover. It is made of fairly light aluminum and it was warped.<br>Question:<br>Has anyone else experienced this with the 4200,4300,4400. <br>JD

<br>I am looking for the same tractor. I took a trip on the phone today through the dealer listings and came up with $16,902 for a 4200 w/ 4wd, 420 Loader, and Hydro trans. (This is a before tax number). <br>

virgina has no such reg... in fact you can go up to 30 miles on public road w/o<br>registration/plates... if you are going to/from repair place, or to/from lands <br>you are working...<br>in fact if you have no licence and a DUI, you can do the same up to 5 miles...<br>-jd
