I'm sure you've tried this, but if it were me I'd jack up the front end and disconnect the cylinder from the arm and see if if it goes in and out smoothly. Then try and turn the wheels by hand. It they won't turn fairly easily with no weight on them there is a dry spot on a spindle somewhere.

My 2360 has a big honking filter under the fuel pump for the hydraulics. Changing that helped mine a bunch. Also the funky joint below the lift lever needs to be loose (not gummed up) for the lift to work properly.

Thanks. Someone else had said the adjustment was under the plate. How big is your repair manual, and where did you find it? I talked to a LongTrac dealer in the southern part of the state and he said that he'd never seen one either. He did have a 360 manual and said most things were the same. I'd like to find one for myself.

My 2360 has very little noise in the tranny, so I wouldn't use it until you figure it out. I've only had noise on other tractors when the throw out bearing failed and a main shaft bearing failed. Both made awful noises. Since the parking brake goes inside the transmission, you might also check to see if it makes a difference in the noise.
