In my opinion the electronics is the problem, if this is the same trans as the 4700 it should be pretty tuff.I have put 1200 hrs. on the 4700 with same box blade, B range. I really never had a major problem except creeping. The 4720 does OK until it gets pretty warm then I have to go to low range which is ok but why I've got 10 more HP to pull through the tuff spots. I put the cruise on it works fine, JD just needs to get it's act together, should be no reason the 4720 will work in B range. JB

I may go back to Low VIS, however JD told me to put the HY Guard in a couple years ago to reduce leak down. The service rep thinks I have internal wear inside the transmission.

I have a 2000 JD 4700 with a Gannon top link cylinder, it works pretty well, however it does leak down a bit. JD does offer an inline restricter that will slow the leaking. The tractor does preform well, I like the way the engine runs and the Hydro trans is ideal, however the hydraulics need work. The tractor has over 600 hours, it is used mainly for box blade and loader work.
