Need some advice on pro's/con's of putting teeth onto a loader bucket...will be using a Kubota B2710. Not even sure what is available. I envision using the teeth to help "grab" brush and to remove top soil...but haven't tried it yet.

Can anyone tell me the height of a B2710 to the top of the ROPS? Also, I can't find anything about these models having a folding or lowerable ROPS (unlike NH or JD).....do these stay in place or can the be routinely moved? Planning on a purchase later....was expecting to get the tractor in my garage depending on the ROPS height.

Gettin' some great feedback. Not exactly sure where this leaves me....as painful as it may be, I guess I'm still leaning towards new. I'm assuming the old '52 is not a four wheel drive and that more than anything may make my decision....as much of my ground can be a bit soggy. I also am interested in a set up to have for the long haul.......Thanks.

Richard, I have yet to act on my purchase. Decided I'd wait until this spring. I did come to find out that the quote on the Cub was a result of a misunderstanding and thus the Cub was not that much cheaper than what I could get a Kubota for. Furthermore, a dealer in Ky has been forthright with some Kubota deals that are very competitive and my plan at the moment is to consider placing an order with him and having it all delivered.

I've got spec's for Kubota, NH, JD, and Cub Cadet. On comparable tractors in the 25-30 hp, why is it that Kubota indicates a lower lift capacity on the 3 pt hitch, whether at hitch point or 24 inches back? Does it really matter.....since 3pt implements are likely way below the capacity range of 1600-2200 lbs anyway? Should I give much consideration to this?

As I plan my 1st tractor purchase, I have a question about a mid-mount finishing mower. Even though I thought I'd get a rear-mount mower initially, I'm now thinking I want a mid-mount to make the tractor more maneuverable around tight spots. Does a mid-mount finishing mower interfere with use of other implements..... or vice versa? Is it typical or acceptable to have other implements such as a FEL and/or rear blade on the tractor at the same time? I was assuming the the mid-mount mower would stay on the tractor for the most part...unless there was a need for extra ground clearance.

Need an opinion or 2. Building on 10 acres...but intend to keep actual lawn at less than an acre. I actually have a small Cub Cadet lawn tractor. When I get my compact tractor...not sure if I should include the added expense of a finishing mower to replace to lawn tractor....or focus on other implements. My concern is that I may have some steep grade landscaping around the house that my lawn tractor may/may not handle. The 4wd shouldn't have a problem. Any thoughts?Also, may have a short 45 degree grade coming off of one side of the house...that I hope to landscape with ground covering. If I actually had lawn there...how stable should I expect a finishing mower to hand steep inclines...in any direction?

I got a quote today on a 7300 (30 hp)...gear drive, 4wd, live PTO for $10,500...which surprised me as being much lower than the big brands. Grader blade-$450; FEL-$3500; Tiller-$2200; Rotary cutter-$800; finish mower-$1750. How does this sound? Does less money mean less tractor?

Can someone please educate the uneducated. Are all 3 pt hitches and the corresponding implement connections a standard size on compact tractors? between diff tractor or implement manufacturers?

Need your experience. I am building on 10 acres...will have an approximate 800 ft gravel drive. As I make plans for a compact tractor purchase, what implement makes the most sense for snow removal and or driveway maintenance.....a front-end loader or a back blade? I would guess that I don't necessarily need both. Am not considering a blower for snow.

Just out of curiosity....where is New Holland headquartered? I'm assuming this is an American company....? I got John Deere figured out as a "homegrown" company....and Kubota is understood. Don't know much about NH.
